My wife wanted room for the rte 44 so she put the cup that was occupying the cup holder in the driveway as we were heading out.

When I said that "a lot of people do it" I simply meant that there are a lot of people who keep "stuff" in the driveway... toys, junk, trash, etc. Plus, it was only there for 15 minutes-- the time it took to run to the store and back.
