Luke 6:27-28
But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.In a win/lose society, we are taught that our enemies are our opposition. Jesus, however, takes this concept of an enemy and turns it 180 degrees the other way.
Here Jesus says we are to love our enemies by:
- Show your love. Treat them as they haven't wronged you and express your love to them in what you do.
- Share your love. Speaking well of them, even when they don't speak well of us.
- Pray for them. Not the "God, give them what they deserve prayers," prayers. Pray that God will bless them.
We start a series this weekend on "Scandalous Grace" at Westside Family Church. We are praying that this becomes a part of our church's DNA and I pray that it becomes a part of yours too.
